Stratford, CT - United Aero Group is pleased to announce that its President & General Manager, Jamie Gelder, has been named to the board of the Connecticut Air & Space Center, an aviation history and aircraft restoration-focused museum. Resident in a vast work and display space within Stratford’s Army Engine Plant, the museum is a volunteer-managed organization that draws members from the Connecticut aviation, business, and industrial community with a common interest in all aspects of the history and technology of human flight. The appointment occurred during the museum’s annual membership meeting with Jamie and Bradley Hittle, President of Two Roads Brewing Company, replacing two departing board members. Both United Aero Group and Two Roads Brewery are strong supporters of aviation and the local community. United Aero Group previously donated a Sikorsky S-76A helicopter to the Air & Space Center and Two Roads Brewery presents a large collection of images and artifacts from Stratford’s aviation history in the entry hall of its expansive tasting rooms and event space. Commenting on the appointment, Jamie said, “It’s an honor to be invited to help the Air & Space Center to expand its reach throughout the local and aviation communities. Our entire staff has an abiding love of aviation. We believe in it and understand how important this area is, and has been, to its development. This appointment to the board allows my entire team the opportunity to become even more involved. In concert with our friends at Two Roads, we believe this area can become a greater hub and we are very excited to work toward making that happen.” Visits to the Connecticut Air & Space Center are available by appointment for all 18 years and older. United Aero Group invites other interested companies to join in support of the Air & Space Center through donation of support funds, airframes, or parts to enable restoration.
